Jump to section:
Transcode Accelerator Goes Turbo
When dealing with thousands—or even hundreds of thousands—of high-resolution media files, transcoding them into proxies can take considerable time. SNS is tackling this problem head on and dramatically reducing proxy generation time with Transcode Accelerator v.2, now available and included at no additional cost for EVO users.
Instead of relying solely on your EVO systems, the new Transcode Accelerator can distribute transcoding tasks to your EVO servers and macOS workstations on your network running Adobe Media Encoder. This approach ensures the workload is spread efficiently across your existing network resources, resulting in significant time savings for large transcoding jobs. What once took days can now take hours, and what once took hours can now take minutes.
This version also introduces some new codec support for EVO users, enabling proxy generation for SONY, Canon, and all other video codecs currently supported by Media Encoder.
It is also the first orchestration engine for Media Encoder that leverages existing hardware, helping organizations to maximize the value and utilization of their current resources, without the need for additional transcode servers, cloud-based services, or other equipment.

ShareBrowser Archive and Restore Workflow
A new archive and restore workflow is coming soon to ShareBrowser. With integration for S3-compliant platforms, as well as SMB network devices and remote EVO shares, users can archive and restore media content directly from the ShareBrowser interface.
The new archive features in ShareBrowser will provide real-time progress updates on archive and restore statuses, while special watermarks indicate whether a clip is archived or available online. Users will be able to preview archived media to ensure they have selected the right clip(s) before initiating the restore process. This solution brings greater visibility into archived media and the archive/restore process, allowing teams to manage both active projects and long-term storage within the ShareBrowser MAM environment.
This new archive and restore workflow is planned for release by the end of this year.
SNS Training Academy
Also launching later this year, the SNS Training Academy is an online learning platform designed to help media professionals unlock the full potential of their SNS storage solutions. The academy will offer self-paced video courses, including foundational topics like “Introduction to Shared Storage” and “ShareBrowser Basics” with more advanced training and certifications for both users and system administrators planned in the future.
NAB attendees will have an exclusive opportunity to pre-register and be among the first to access the platform when it goes live.
In addition to the new online training experience, SNS continues to offer live training sessions with our in-house product and workflow specialists. These experts provide personalized training tailored to your specific production environment and workflow.
While SNS solutions are designed to be highly intuitive and user-friendly, we’re committed to ensuring that customers never feel they’re going it alone. To support that, we offer a comprehensive range of resources, including in-depth documentation, a robust Knowledge Base, and the best technical support in the industry. The SNS Training Academy is yet another way we aim to help our users get the most out of their EVO systems.
Review and Approval
SNS is previewing an innovative, cloud-based review and approval workflow designed to streamline external collaboration and enhance efficiency. The release date of this new external review and approval solution has not been announced. Attendees will have the chance to experience it firsthand at the SNS booth at NAB Show 2025.
With this new feature, users can send media files directly from ShareBrowser to any email address—whether the recipient is an EVO user, an external collaborator, or anyone else who needs to access the content. Recipients can view the media and provide feedback in a variety of ways, including comments, on-screen drawings, annotations, emojis, and more—all within an intuitive, browser-based interface.
This cloud-based solution offers the flexibility to review projects from anywhere with an internet connection—no VPNs or server access required. Only the sender needs authorized access to ShareBrowser; everyone else can simply access the file via a web link.
SNS is currently seeking pilot customers for the new review and approval workflow. If you’re interested in participating, contact SNS for more details.
Encryption, Subclips, and More
The latest version of EVO is now shipping with AES-256 encryption options to enhance security for those who need it most. With support for both at-rest and in-flight encryption, EVO employs the gold standard for data protection, including logical disk encryption, SMB signing, and SMB encryption.
Additionally, the latest version of ShareBrowser introduces timecode-specific markers for frame-accurate annotation. Users can now mark in and out points to create subclips, making it easier to add searchable metadata to specific segments of a clip rather than the entire clip. These markers and subclips are imported into Adobe Premiere Pro and DaVinci Resolve, along with your media and other metadata, when using the ShareBrowser panel or extension for these video editing applications.
The updated ShareBrowser v.7.1 panel for Adobe Premiere Pro is now available on the Adobe Exchange. For the latest DaVinci Resolve workflow integration plug-in compatible with ShareBrowser markers and subclips, contact SNS support.
New Workflow Integrations
Slingshot, EVO’s built-in transcoder and automations engine, continues to be one of the most effective time savers in the EVO Suite. In addition to automatic transcoding, Slingshot lets you schedule recurring backup, sync, transfer, and replication tasks to an ever-expanding list of local, network, and cloud storage destinations. And yes, that list is growing again.
Storj (pronounced “STOR-jay”) and Ortana join SNS’s existing integrations with Amazon S3, Dropbox, Microsoft Azure, OneDrive, Box.com, Wasabi, Backblaze, Google Cloud Platform, and SNS’s own EVO Cloud, offering creative teams more flexibility in managing backup, sync, replication, data transfer, and disaster recovery automations across a wide range of cloud and on-premise solutions.
Storj Cloud Storage Integration
EVO users can now replicate media to Storj, a globally distributed cloud storage platform designed for performance, security, efficiency, and sustainability. Unlike traditional cloud providers, Storj repurposes existing hardware on its network of over 20,000 storage nodes in over 100 countries worldwide, reducing energy consumption, electronic waste, and costs. Storj distributes encrypted file segments across a global network, ensuring high availability, privacy, and redundancy, while eliminating single points of failure. EVO integrates with Storj as an S3-compatible cloud storage destination, allowing media professionals to automate backups, manage sync and replication jobs, and transfer data to Storj on demand or on a recurring schedule.
Ortana Media Group Integration
The integration between EVO and Ortana Media Group’s Cubix platform brings advanced orchestration possibilities to creative media workflows. By leveraging EVO’s APIs, Cubix can automate and orchestrate tasks such as provisioning cloud storage, archiving files, generating project sequences from bin contents, syncing ShareBrowser bins across multiple locations, migrating assets from other storage systems, integrating with AI/ML engines for enriched metadata tagging, and more. The possibilities are endless. This integration minimizes manual effort, enhances efficiency, and provides greater flexibility for workflow orchestration in media production environments.
ShareBrowser Integration with Ross Video’s Media I/O
For broadcast and live production workflows, the new integration between ShareBrowser MAM and Ross Video’s Media I/O offers a faster pathway from ingest to edit.
With this integration, when Media I/O automatically generates proxy files during ingest, it can make them available in ShareBrowser as soon as the process is complete—eliminating the need for additional transcoding or proxy rendering that could slow down your workflow. Powered by EVO’s built-in API, included at no extra cost, this solution combines Media I/O’s media ingest capabilities with the tools of EVO Signature Series for Ross Video. It offers a time-saving solution designed to meet the fast-paced demands of broadcast, sports, and live entertainment.
