The updates include a new desktop shared storage server (Prodigy Desktop), a short-depth version of the EVO 8 Bay, and a new version of ShareBrowser media asset management software.

Studio Network Solutions has recently started shipping a desktop version of their EVO shared storage system. The EVO Prodigy Desktop is the first of its kind — a four-disk desktop shared storage system that stores up to 40TB and includes unlimited media asset management software, workflow tools, and project sharing for Avid Media Composer, Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro X, and other creative applications. The EVO Prodigy Desktop is designed to make feature-rich shared storage available for small creative teams without machine rooms, and without large budgets.

Studio Network Solutions’ new Short-Depth EVO 8 Bay
Another recently released product to be shown at IBC is the Short-Depth EVO 8 Bay — an 18″ depth, 4RU chassis designed to fit large storage capacities and connectivity options into limited spaces such as DIT stations, broadcast trucks, and flight packs. The Short-Depth EVO 8 Bay provides up to 80TB of storage with 8 disks, ands expandable to 24. The system and support up to 24 direct connect 1Gigabit Ethernet users, or multiple 10Gigabit Ethernet and Fibre Channel connections.

On the software side, Studio Network Solutions will be previewing the new features of ShareBrowser, a media asset management tool designed to help shared storage users organize and share media. ShareBrowser does this by giving teams the ability to preview, tag, comment, and search online and offline storage, and enabling collaborative workflows for Avid, Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro X, and other creative applications.
New features to be shown include improved integration with Premiere Pro and Final Cut Pro X, Finder and Windows Explorer integration, expanded support for third-party LTO providers, increased third-party cloud support, and new multi-variable search functions.

It’s been in heavy development since we released it in 2013, and we have a lot of interesting things on the roadmap for our users. There are some big things related to data lifecycle management, deep archive in the cloud, and automation for multi-tier storage environments, so stay tuned for that,” said Ryan Stoutenborough, President, Studio Network Solutions.
